Dive & Discover: Corals

Pilot a virtual submersible through a Malaysian coral reef. Navigate among coral formations in search of marine life, from whale sharks and dugongs to moray eels. Scan each discovery to reveal a detailed 3D model, scientific information and its conservation status. Each encounter brings another part of this living ecosystem into view.

Dive & Discover began as a virtual-reality prototype created by MAGES Studio & Institute. It found a new form aboard R/V OceanXplorer when Ammobox Studios adapted it for dome projection. Method & Madness later expanded the experience with improved controls, richer visuals and a wider library of marine life. For this coral edition, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu helped ground the experience in reef science, drawing on research by Associate Professor Dr Maizah Mohd Abdullah and the team from the Faculty of Science and Marine Environment.
