The Seagrass Quest

Step into the role of marine scientist Nada Abdelkader and discover how something once used to take life from the ocean can be transformed into a tool to help restore it.

Your mission is to rebuild a struggling seagrass meadow using restoration mats inspired by ‘drina’ fishing traps. Put the solution into practice and watch the habitat respond as seagrass returns, creating the conditions for a whole community of marine life to flourish once again.

Inspired by Nada's real work restoring seagrass meadows, Nada & Kai: The Seagrass Quest turns a nature-based solution into a hands-on challenge. Experience how science, resourcefulness, and a simple idea can come together to help a damaged habitat recover.

Created through a partnership between the University of Bristol and OceanX Education, funded by Dalio Philanthropies, bringing together an interdisciplinary team of students, marine scientists, science communicators, and immersive storytellers, with mentorship from Studio Giggle and collaborators across ocean science and creative technology.
